Welcome to Summit Student Ministries of First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, Florida! Working with youth from the 6th through 12th grades, we offer one of the most exciting and dynamic programs in the Lakeland area.

2008 Shareholder's Dinner

The Shareholder's Dinner is set for Wednesday, August 20th from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Fellowship Center. The dinner begins at 5:30 and will be followed at 6:15 with a presentation from the youth mission teams who participated in "ReCreation Experiences Home Repair" Mission in North Carolina this summer. If you are a shareholder, please remember to bring your ticket with you to the dinner.

Summit Cookout & Pool Party

Mark your calendars NOW for Sunday, August 31st for a SPECIAL Labor Day Weekend Youth Event! We'll have a Cookout & Pool Party - $3 per person & bring a 2-liter drink! We'll meet from 4-7 p.m. at Bill, Judy and Bradley Hockensmith's at 5771 Lake Victoria Drive. There will be PLENTY of food and a TON of fun for all. Be sure to sign up on Sunday evening at Summit or call the youth office at 687-9750 so we can plan the food!

There will be NO regular Summit meeting or Praise Band practice on this night!!

Are you interested in demonstrating servant leadership with Summit? One of the most significant ministries a teen can have is leadership and ministry to one's own peers. The Leadership Team is open to students in grades 7-12 who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and who commit themselves to serving Him. Our mission in student leadership is to build relationships with students so we can share the gospel with each, disciple believers and lead them to spiritual maturity. Night of Joy Registration!!

You may reserve your spot NOW for Night of Joy. We will be taking a charter bus on Friday, September 5th and on Saturday, September 6th. To participate in this fun event, fill out a registration form and turn it in along with $40 for your ticket purchase to the student ministry office. Be sure to indicate WHICH NIGHT you wish to attend. The line-up for Friday evening includes: Chris Tomlin, MercyMe, Rebecca St. James, Barlow Girl, Matthew West, Rush of Fools, Brandon Heath and Britt Nichol. The Saturday night line-up is: Casting Crowns, tobyMac, Fred Hammond, Marcos Witt, Mandisa, Aaron Shust, RED, and Pure NRG. There are 40 youth spots available for each evening. Reserve your spot EARLY!
